Review of HOT FROSTY - What a Romantic Movie

In "Hot Frosty," available on Afdah Watch Movies Online a snowman mysteriously comes to life. It's probably the first romantic comedy about a woman and a snowman.

Would you like to go out with a snowman? That's kind of weird. Sorry, Frozen, but Cathy (Lacey Chabert) somehow brings a snowman to life just by wrapping her scarf around him. I know that of course?!? But of course, this movie isn't all fun and games. Cathy lost her husband to cancer two years ago. She runs her own restaurant, but now it feels like the restaurant is her only purpose in life. Her personal life isn't much great. Despite making a note to call the repairman, she just keeps putting things off until she doesn't know when that will be. No heating, no dripping water from the ceiling, no way to live like that. Anyway, Jack Snowman (Dustin Milligan) comes back to life wearing only a scarf. After the break-in, he gets dressed and finally makes his way to safety.


In a town where Sheriff Hunter (Craig Robinson) has his way, Jack is as safe as he can be. On the other side of the coin is Deputy Sheriff Schatz (Joe Lo Truglio). The two essentially play bad cop and good cop. Sheriff Hunter is the classic old-school sheriff we see in movies. He has his own trademark and wants to make sure the town gets justice. Just like the real-life actor, Sheriff Hunter also plays the piano. As they get closer to solving the case, Cathy asks Jack to keep a low profile. But knowing Jack, there's not the slightest chance of that happening. If there's a way to help someone, he wants to help them. He's still a snowman at heart, and he needs ice and other cold foods to survive.

Blitz Review: A Solid Saoirse Ronan but Steve McQueen’s WWII Story Feels Too Tidy

Anyone who grew up in Britain knows the story of Britain's unwavering fighting spirit during World War II. In schools, children were repeatedly drilled into the story of how the great British nation bravely maintained a united front. Women took over the jobs that men conscripted into the war could not do, families were encouraged to grow vegetable gardens for "victory", and more than a million people, most of them children, were evacuated from the vulnerable city. Perhaps the most enduring image is that of Londoners taking refuge in Underground stations during the German air raids known as the Blitz , can be streamed on Afdah . There was a sense of community, neighbors and strangers alike protecting each other and shielding them from the fires of hell. Small Things Like These is an intimate, layered character study set in Ireland, with a focus on what matters: Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) is a local coal supplier with five daughters with his wife. A few days before Christmas in 1985, while delivering coal to a convent, he comes across a horrifying sight: a young woman being dragged, screaming and kicking, into the church by her mother and several nuns. The film, based on the novel of the same name by Claire Keegan, never says so directly, but given the politics of the time and the country's widespread Catholic practice, it doesn't take much to guess that she is an unwed mother. The image haunts Bill, forcing him to confront difficult memories of his own childhood and the religious foundations of this close-knit community.
