SpongeBob, the central character, begins Plankton: The Movie Afdah by introducing us to his town and its residents, including his friends and neighbors. The cheerful atmosphere is disrupted by a character named Sheldon Plankton. In his fast-food establishments and the Chum Bucket office, Plankton is determined to achieve his lifelong dream of world domination. Having faced numerous failures in the past, he decides to adopt a new strategy, this time enlisting the help of his supercomputer wife, Karen. His objective is to undermine his competitor, Mr. Krabs, a successful fast-food owner, with the hope of seizing control of the entire business and, ultimately, the world. However, Mr. Krabs is already prepared for Plankton's intrusion, leading to the swift collapse of his plan.

As Mr. Krabs remains vigilant against Plankton's attempts, the operation quickly turns into a debacle. In response, Karen initiates her own nefarious plot to conquer the world, which includes revamping the Chum Bucket to enhance its appeal and boost sales. Nevertheless, the obstinate Plankton dismisses her suggestions and, in a fit of rage, destroys the establishment, believing it does not align with his vision. This act becomes a turning point for Karen, who, feeling betrayed by her husband, decides to pursue her own ambitions. She transforms into a formidable supercomputer capable of attracting all metallic objects in the city to construct a colossal robot intent on annihilating Bikini Bottom and the entire planet.

Blitz Review: A Solid Saoirse Ronan but Steve McQueen’s WWII Story Feels Too Tidy

Anyone who grew up in Britain knows the story of Britain's unwavering fighting spirit during World War II. In schools, children were repeatedly drilled into the story of how the great British nation bravely maintained a united front. Women took over the jobs that men conscripted into the war could not do, families were encouraged to grow vegetable gardens for "victory", and more than a million people, most of them children, were evacuated from the vulnerable city. Perhaps the most enduring image is that of Londoners taking refuge in Underground stations during the German air raids known as the Blitz , can be streamed on Afdah . There was a sense of community, neighbors and strangers alike protecting each other and shielding them from the fires of hell. Despite all the horror and destruction, a strangely rosy picture of wartime Britain prevails. Nothing's better than the good old days, they say. Small Things Like These is an intimate, layered character study set in Ireland, with a focus on what matters: Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) is a local coal supplier with five daughters with his wife. A few days before Christmas in 1985, while delivering coal to a convent, he comes across a horrifying sight: a young woman being dragged, screaming and kicking, into the church by her mother and several nuns. The film, based on the novel of the same name by Claire Keegan, never says so directly, but given the politics of the time and the country's widespread Catholic practice, it doesn't take much to guess that she is an unwed mother. The image haunts Bill, forcing him to confront difficult memories of his own childhood and the religious foundations of this close-knit community.
