Our Little Secret is another very welcome achievement in Lindsay Lohan's career progression, and this Christmas romantic comedy may be her best yet. Avery (Lohan) goes to London in search of a great professional opportunity. Logan (Ian Harding) doesn't think Avery is leaving just for her career. It's more that Avery is finding it difficult to stay in her childhood home with her father (Henry Czerny, Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1) after the death of her mother. Logan has special insight into Avery, having known her for years, first as her best friend and then as her boyfriend. He's not happy about Avery leaving and desperately begs her to stay. This goes horribly wrong and the two don't speak to each other for over a decade. It's Christmas time and Avery is going to meet her boyfriend Cameron's (John Rudnitsky) family. While her dad, Leo (Dan Bucatinsky), is totally relaxed, Avery already knows that her mom, Erica (Kristin Chenoweth), can be a b...

SPELLBOUND is a touching fantasy adventure film about family and what it means to be family. With beautiful animation and great songs, there's a lot to love here. Now, SPELLBOUND can be streamed on Afdah Spellbound follows the adventures of Elian (Rachel Zegler), the headstrong young daughter of the ruler of Lumbria. Elian must embark on a daring mission to save her family and the kingdom after her parents are transformed into mysterious monsters. Magic. The film is a modern take on a fairy tale that uses familiar elements like kingdoms, princesses, kings, queens, and magic to tell the story of a family. I like how Spellbound portrays unhealthy family relationships and the idea that many children see their parents as monsters. But in the case of Princess Elian (Rachel Zegler), it was actually magic that transformed her royal parents (Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem) into monsters. The shift brings this dark fantasy to life, and the film is full of heart, laughter, and family with vib...

"GOODRICH", watch on Afdah ,  tells the story of a man who unexpectedly becomes a single father (albeit temporarily) while trying to save his business. There is not necessarily a right way to be a parent, but there is certainly a wrong way. Many parents with busy jobs don't spend enough time at home, missing out on important childhood moments and realizing too late that their older children resent not being at home. In addition to potentially trying to repair relationships with existing children, some have the option of starting over with a new family, but of course this brings additional complications. In "Goodrich," a man tries to be there for his young twins and his adult daughter who is pregnant with her first child. Andy Goodrich (Michael Keaton) owns a once hugely successful gallery that is now on the verge of closing down. Adding to his stress is the news that his wife has been unexpectedly admitted to a rehab clinic and now he must care for his 9-year-ol...

The Wicked Witch of the West was an iconic movie villain for decades, before Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel turned into one of Broadway's most successful musicals, Wicked. Now, more than 20 years after its premiere, Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights) directs this big, upbeat studio musical that's both a faithful adaptation and a fresh reimagining of the theatrical work. Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba, the green-skinned outsider who eventually becomes the Wicked Witch. She's an outsider when Elphaba goes off to Shizu College with her sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode). Elphaba and Nessa are the daughters of Munchkinland's mayor, Fexper Thropp (Andy Nyman). He shuns his eldest son, preferring his younger brother, who has a completely normal complexion and is wheelchair-bound. It's a burden Elphaba has carried all her life, and her unexpected college admission is just one of those life decisions that she can't make at first. The other students mock her en...

Anyone who grew up in Britain knows the story of Britain's unwavering fighting spirit during World War II. In schools, children were repeatedly drilled into the story of how the great British nation bravely maintained a united front. Women took over the jobs that men conscripted into the war could not do, families were encouraged to grow vegetable gardens for "victory", and more than a million people, most of them children, were evacuated from the vulnerable city. Perhaps the most enduring image is that of Londoners taking refuge in Underground stations during the German air raids known as the Blitz , can be streamed on Afdah . There was a sense of community, neighbors and strangers alike protecting each other and shielding them from the fires of hell. Despite all the horror and destruction, a strangely rosy picture of wartime Britain prevails. Nothing's better than the good old days, they say. Steve McQueen's Blitz offers a fresh counterpoint to this nostalgia....

In "Hot Frosty,"  available on Afdah Watch Movies Online a snowman mysteriously comes to life. It's probably the first romantic comedy about a woman and a snowman. Would you like to go out with a snowman? That's kind of weird. Sorry, Frozen, but Cathy (Lacey Chabert) somehow brings a snowman to life just by wrapping her scarf around him. I know that of course?!? But of course, this movie isn't all fun and games. Cathy lost her husband to cancer two years ago. She runs her own restaurant, but now it feels like the restaurant is her only purpose in life. Her personal life isn't much great. Despite making a note to call the repairman, she just keeps putting things off until she doesn't know when that will be. No heating, no dripping water from the ceiling, no way to live like that. Anyway, Jack Snowman (Dustin Milligan) comes back to life wearing only a scarf. After the break-in, he gets dressed and finally makes his way to safety. In a town where Sheriff Hu...
